Eight myths
Myth 01
“Private trips are only for the very rich. A group tour is the only affordable way to see Japan.”
A private trip costs more than the cheapest coach seat, but often less than families expect. Our sample journeys start from about ₹1.35L per person, and our cost guide shows where the money goes.
Myth 02
“You need to speak Japanese to get around.”
Stations, ticket machines and tourist areas have extensive English signage. On a Bluedust trip you also have a private guide on guided days and a team in Japan who speak Hindi and Gujarati.
Myth 03
“Planning trains, hotels and an itinerary yourself is too complicated.”
A private trip isn’t a DIY trip. It is planned end to end by people who know the routes, with a private vehicle and guide handling the logistics. You don’t need to research rail passes at midnight.
Myth 04
“Without a tour leader and a group, you’ll get lost.”
Your private guide is your tour leader, dedicated only to your family rather than shared across thirty strangers.
Myth 05
“Children and grandparents can’t manage an independent trip.”
It’s the opposite. A fixed coach schedule is hardest on children and grandparents. A private trip lets the pace flex around naps, energy and how long anyone wants to stay.
Myth 06
“Vegetarian or Jain food is impossible in Japan.”
Hard without planning, but not impossible. Tokyo and Osaka in particular have good options. See our vegetarian and Jain food guide.
Myth 07
“Japan isn’t used to Indian visitors.”
Indian arrivals to Japan reached a record 315,100 in 2025, up 35% on 2024, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization. Japan actively promotes travel from India.
Myth 08
“If something goes wrong on a private trip, there’s no one to call.”
Every Bluedust trip includes on-trip support from our team in Japan, in Hindi and Gujarati, dedicated to your family rather than shared across a coach.
